PAUL E. ROUGHAN Managing
General Partner
Mr. Roughan earned his B.S. in
Chemical Engineering and MBA in Operations Research
in four years from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
in 1978. From 1978 to 1989, he worked for General
Electric in various operating management positions
for the GE Plastics Division and in various Finance
and IT management positions for GE Corporate. From
1990 to 1995, he worked for McKinsey & Company,
a consultancy, specializing in operations improvement
and post-merger integration consulting. In 1995,
he joined UARCO, a $700 million business forms company,
as Senior Vice President overseeing the company’s
turnaround efforts. He led the break up and sale
process and successfully sold the company in 1997
through three transactions. In 1998, he became CEO
and President of Appliance Corp. of America, a $100
million marketer of small kitchen appliances. He
led the break up and sale process and successfully
sold the company in 1999 through two transactions.
Mr. Roughan joined Charter Oak in July
1999 and has served on the Board of Directors for Titan
Plastics Group, Inc.; Revere Industries, LLC; Daisy
Manufacturing Company, Inc.; Integrated DisAbility
Resources, Inc. and Pasta Montana, LLC. He currently
serves on the Board of Directors for Revere Industries,
LLC; Aylward Enterprises, LLC and Daisy Manufacturing
Company, Inc. He also is a board member for Ovation
Polymers, Inc., a specialty resin company, not owned
by Charter Oak. |

ZUBIN AVARI General
Partner
Mr. Avari graduated Magna Cum Laude
from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1995 with a B.S.
in Accounting. He received his Certified Public Accountant
(CPA) Certificate in 1995. From 1995 to 1998 Mr. Avari
worked with Crowe Chizek and Company, LLP in a number
of departments, gaining tax, audit and mergers and
acquisitions experience. Mr. Avari joined Charter Oak
in October 1998 and has worked very closely with a
number of portfolio companies, including serving as
temporary CFO at two of the companies. Mr. Avari is
also responsible for structuring and negotiating all
debt tranches for the portfolio companies. He currently
serves on the Board of Directors for Revere Industries,
LLC; Texcel Industries, LLC and Charter Oak American
Church Holding, LLC. |

MARK
D. ULLMAN General
Partner
Mr. Ullman completed a five-year program at Cornell
University, which earned him a B.S. in Operations
Research in 1982 and an M.B.A in 1983; both degrees
earned With Distinction.
Mr. Ullman worked with McKinsey & Co. from 1983 to 2000, where he co-led
the Corporate Finance Practice which supports clients’ M&A activities;
founded the global practice that provides due diligence and post-closing strategic
and operating improvement services for buyout firms; founded the Medical Devices
Practice; and helped a variety of North American and European industrial and
healthcare product manufacturers improve their operating performance. He left
McKinsey in 2000 to join TradeOut, Inc., a B2B marketplace for excess inventory
and off-lease assets. He first headed Strategy and Business Development and later
served as the President and Co-CEO. In 2001, Mr. Ullman sold TradeOut to DoveBid,
a larger, off-line competitor.
In 2002, Mr. Ullman established Clearview
Associates as a private equity investing and consulting
firm. In 2003, Mark committed part of his time to Charter
Oak Capital Partners as an Operating Partner, and was
particularly active on the Stealth Medical Technologies
board. He has also served as an Operating Partner at
First Atlantic Capital, and as Advisory Board Member
of Arcadia Partners. In 2006, Mr. Ullman led the acquisition
of Parish Pay and Smart, LLC, companies that provide
tuition billing and collection services for private
K-12 schools; both transactions closed in 2006. He
currently serves on the Board of Directors of Smart,
LLC and Aylward Enterprises, LLC. |

ANTHONY
J. DOWD General
Partner
Mr. Dowd graduated with distinction
from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1981
with a B.S. degree in Engineering. From 1981 to 1986
he served as an officer in the U.S. Army. In 1988,
Mr. Dowd graduated from the Wharton School of the University
of Pennsylvania with a M.B.A degree in Finance. Subsequently,
Mr. Dowd was a Senior Associate with James D. Wolfensohn,
Inc., a New York investment banking firm. In 1991,
Mr. Dowd became affiliated with Charter Oak Partners
and was appointed Director of Private Investments in
May 1992. In 1997 he became a founding General Partner
of Charter Oak Capital Partners. He served on the Board
of Directors for many of Charter Oak's private investments
and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Revere
Industries, LLC; Space Optics Research Lab, LLC and
Texcel Industries, LLC.

ROBERT P. SARRAZIN General
Partner
Mr. Sarrazin received a B.A. degree
in Honors Business Administration from the Richard
Ivey School of Business. From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Sarrazin
was a Financial Analyst in the Leveraged Finance/Financial
Buyers Group of CS First Boston Corporation. He joined
Charter Oak in August 1995 and has served on the Board
of Directors for Stealth Medical Technologies, LLC;
Ross Aluminum Foundries, LLC; Brass Eagle, Inc. and
Orchid Orthopedics, LLC. He currently serves on the
Board of Directors for Space Optics Research Labs, LLC. |

ELLYN
STERN CFO
Mrs. Stern received a B.S. in
Finance from Babson College and a M.S. in Financial
Management from Fairfield University. Prior to joining Charter Oak, she was a
senior financial analyst in the Maxwell House Division of General Foods Corporations
and was the Controller for SFA, Inc., a media communications company. Mrs. Stern
joined Charter Oak in January 1998. Her responsibilities include accounting,
financial reporting and compliance for all of the private
equity partnerships. Ms. Stern currently serves on the Board of Directors for
Space Optics Research Labs, LLC. |
